The “kangaroo carry” (infants back to your chest) is another one when the baby is 4 or 5 months old. The infant sling reduces baby cries and promotes infant mental development and attachment.

Pouch slings – Pocket styled slings which have some cloths sewn into a tubular shape adjusted with zippers, buckles, rings, snaps, etc. Helps in quick loading and unloading.
Wraps – Involves wrapping of the cloth both around the baby and the user rather than simply tied. Allows baby to be held in front, back or on the hip of the holder.
Chinese baby sling carriers – Chinese Mei Tai baby sling carriers are famous. Made from square shaped fabric has padded/unpadded straps to hold baby.
Ergo baby carrier – A backpack or front style carrier, this type is a preferable choice as it evenly distributes the baby’s weight on the user’s shoulders, back and hips.
