Let us understand how to cope with breast growth during pregnancy. During the first few weeks of pregnancy, breasts become sore and tender. Women may experience pain as the nipples become sensitive.

When a woman is pregnant, there are a lot of adjustments going on in her body to make way for the baby. Certain apparent changes are weight gain, breast growth during pregnancy, skin changes and increase in size of the uterus.

This can be compared to the feeling before periods which will remain till the end of the first trimester. When we study breast growth during pregnancy, it is found that a lot of women’s breasts become bigger in size.

While some may grow a cup size or more especially during their first pregnancy, others might not get the same results. Also, breast size may not change much in the second pregnancy. Appearance of stretch marks on breasts can cause slight discomfort in that area. Any good quality lotion should be applied to soothe the skin.

It takes care of all the essential needs of the child. However, for some women it can be awkward when this milk leaks during their second or third trimester. You can use breast pads in such a situation. Pregnancy is a unique experience, so don’t fret over bodily changes and enjoy it.

In the later stages, the nipples may become larger and veins in the breasts become more visible due to increased blood supply. As part of breast growth during pregnancy, colustrum is produced around the third month.

A well balanced and healthy diet is essential for both your well being and that of your baby while preparing for pregnancy. Everything that you eat and drink will also become your unborn child’s nourishment and what you store before pregnancy is important for early fetal development when all the major organs are formed.

One of the B-Vitamins, folic acid, helps prevent neural tube defects (NTD), such as spina bifida, in unborn babies. It is recommended that all women who are preparing for pregnancy should increase their average daily intake to 0.6 mg by taking a 0.4 mg supplement before attempting, conception, and during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

This is the time when your baby’s organs and body systems are forming. If you are epileptic and take drugs to control your epilepsy you should consult your doctor before taking folic acid.

While preparing for pregnancy regular exercise is important as it will help you get fit before conception and it will strengthen muscles in lower back, stomach, and legs which will help your body cope better with the demands of pregnancy.

By doing regular Stretching exercises at home, or at an organized class, you will strengthen yourself for preparing for pregnancy. As your legs have to carry more weight during pregnancy, try to do regular daily exercises such as running on the spot to build them up.

Medication and Immunization

Fertilization and early development of a baby are controlled by delicately balanced chemical process in the body. Addition chemicals entering your body as medication can upset this development, so if possible you should avoid taking any medicines before conception and during pregnancy. Know this before preparing for pregnancy.

If you are on long term medication, you will need to talk to your doctor about your options before preparing for pregnancy. Medicines that are available over the counter, natural remedies and vitamin supplements should also be avoided, unless they have been recommended by your doctor.

Oral contraceptives rely on chemically-produced hormones to control fertility. If you are taking the pill, change to barrier method, such as the condom or diaphragm, for three months before trying to conceive. This allows your body to clear itself of synthetic hormones and to re-establish its own cycle.

Immunization: An unborn baby exposed to rubella (German measles) during its early development can be born severely handicapped. Don’t assume that because you were vaccinated in your teens, and you have had the infection, that you are automatically immune. Analyze this before preparing for pregnancy.

Ask your doctor to give you a blood test to check. If you are not immune you can be vaccinated, but you should not get pregnant until the vaccination virus has cleared from your blood, which takes about three months. If you have been given vaccines for tropical diseases, you should also wait for three months before getting pregnant.

Avoid Smoking and Alcohol

Once you have decided that you want to have a baby, you and your partner should concentrate on getting your self fit and healthy before trying to conceive. Ideally you should begin preparing for pregnancy at least 3 months before conception so that you can be sure that your child will get the best possible start in life.

If your pregnancy is unplanned, then start taking extra care of yourself as soon as you suspect that you might become pregnant. This may involve come basic changes in your lifestyle.

There is evidence that suggest that smoking by either partner can delay conception, so if you or your partner smokes you should stop now. In addition, smoking while preparing for pregnancy will put the baby at risk and can also affect your well- being; giving up before conception will benefit you and your child.

Alcohol can inhibit fertility, so both you and your partner should keep alcohol consumption to a minimum or avoid drinking altogether while trying to conceive. Once you are pregnant, alcohol, if taken in excess, can restrict fetal development and can even cause malformation. It is advisable to drink no more than one unit of alcohol a week during pregnancy.

Well, if you seek an honest reply, its better to completely avoid alcohol if preparing for pregnancy and at all times since its bad effects supersede its good effects. So simply say NO to alcohol!

Postnatal exercise is one of the most important aspects of the postnatal care period. Despite losing the combined weight of the baby, the placenta, and the amniotic fluid, you will still be heavier than you were before you became pregnancy.

You may even find that you have to continue to wear maternity clothes for a short while. As your uterus shrinks during the six-weeks following the birth you will lose weight, but will need to watch your diet to regain your pre-pregnancy shape.

During Postnatal exercise period, eat regularly and healthy and don’t be tempted, because you are short of time, to snack on foods containing empty calories such as sweets and fizzy drinks.

If the weigh isn’t disappearing as fast as you’d like, ask your health visitor for advice. Don’t attempt any diet now or while you are breast feeding this would increase stress as your body is struggling to regain its equilibrium. Doing exercises will help you get your figure back, get you moving again, and make you feel fitter.

Below are some of the postnatal exercise:

Curl-ups: This exercise will help strengthen your vertical abdominal muscles. Lie on your back with a pillow under your head, your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Now pull in your abdominal muscles and, raising your head, stretch your arms towards your knees. Hold for the count of five and then relax slowly. Repeat several times.

Leg Slide: Lie with your head on a pillow with the small of your back pressed against the floor and your knees bent. Gently slide one leg away from your body until it is fully extended, keeping the small of your back pressed against the floor for as long as you can. Slowly draw the leg back towards your body and then repeat with the other leg. Do this several times.

Waist trimmer: Lie on the floor with your arms away from your side, with your knees bent and feet flat. Pull in your abdominal and with knees together, roll over to the right. Take your knees back to the middle and pause. Rest briefly, then pull in your abdominal again and roll your knees to the left, then back to the middle and pause. Keep your shoulders flat on the floor as you roll from side to side. Repeat six times and work up to 20. This is one of the most important Postnatal exercise

Foot exercises: These will help improve your circulation and are especially important if you are confined to bed. Lie with your legs straight and knees together and bend and stretch your feet. Flex one foot, pulling the toes up towards you while pointing the other foot away from you. Repeat, alternating the feet. Do this exercise quite briskly for about 30 seconds.

Those for strengthening the pelvic floor are among the most important postnatal exercise. The pelvic floor muscles support the bladder, uterus, and rectum, so it is vital that their tone is restored after being stretched during childbirth.

Tiredness goes hand in hand with being a new mother but you need rest to help your body recover from childbirth. It is tempting to use the baby’s sleep times to catch up on chores, but do try to have a nap or proper rest at least once during the day, especially after Postnatal exercise.

You and your child are more important than housework, so find ways to cut down the work. Accept offers of help and, if no one volunteers, don’t be afraid to ask people. Another way to cope with tiredness or stress is relaxation, so try using the relaxation Postnatal exercise to help you now.

Also a long, lazy bath with a few drops of relaxing oil in the water will work wonders. For a real treat, ask your partner to give you a massage using a specially formulated oil before you go to sleep.

Although your new baby will probably give you great emotional satisfaction, Postnatal care is important as you may be physically uncomfortable. Your body has gone through many changes during pregnancy and it will take a while for it to return to its pre-pregnancy state.

Six weeks after the birth your doctor will examine you to make sure that everything is returning to normal; this also gives you a chance to discuss any worries you may have. The doctor will take your blood pressure and check a sample of your urine. This is a part of Postnatal care procedure.

Your breast and abdomen will be examined and the doctor will make sure that any stitches have healed properly. In Postnatal care process, you will probably have an internal examination to check the size and position of your uterus and you may have a cervical smear test if one is due.

If your baby was born in hospital, a midwife or doctor will probably talk to you about contraception before you go home. Alternatively, you can discuss this at your six-week check.

Another important aspect of Postnatal care is to avoid getting pregnant again you should use conception as soon as you resume intercourse. It is an old wives tale that breast feeding prevents conception.

If you were not immune to rubella (German measles) during your pregnancy, you will probably be offered the immunizations before you leave hospital or at your six-week check up. Ask your doctor if you are all unsure about your immunity.

Immediately after the birth your breast will produce colostrum, a high protein liquid full of antibodies. Then, after the pregnancy hormones decline, your main milk supply should come in around the third or fourth day. Postnatal care becomes even more crucial now.

At this time the breasts swell, feel hard, and can sometimes be painful. Bathing them with warm water is soothing, and letting the baby have frequent feed will also help.

This initial swelling subsides after a few days as both you and your baby get used to feeding. However, in Postnatal care process, if you have decided to bottle feed, your breast will remain full for a few days until they gradually stop producing milk.

Your breasts will probably never be quite firm as they were before pregnancy, but a well fitted support bra will help gradually.

After delivery your abdomen will probably be quite flabby and wrinkled because of slack muscles and stretched skin. Gentle Postnatal care exercise will help tighten up your abdominal and vaginal muscles, so make time to do them every day. If you feel you’re not disciplined enough to exercise on your own, join a local post-natal class.

Following the birth you will have a vaginal discharge which is known as lochia. This will be like a very heavy period for a few days, with the flow gradually getting lighter until it disappears within a few weeks.

Use maternity pads or large sanitary towels to absorb the discharge because there is a risk of infection is you use tampons in the early weeks after the birth. So avoid using it in Postnatal care period.

Your uterus will take six weeks to return to its original size. If you are breast feeding you may feel it contract as you feed the baby. If your perineum (the skin between the vagina and anus) was bruised during labour, or if you had stitches, you will find that anything that puts pressure on the area painful.

Take paracetamol to relieve the pain and ease the soreness with gel pack held against the perineum or by sitting in warm water. Try drying the area with a hand-held hair dryer, set on cool, rather than with a bath towel. Do not put the dryer too close to your skin, or use it in the bathroom.

If you take good Postnatal care, you can return back to your normal life.

Many new mothers have the question “do babies poop in the womb”. The answer to it is, yes, the babies do poop in the womb. The poop in the mother’s womb is called Meconium. This is very normal and can happen many times. It becomes common when the birth of the baby is delayed or if the mother or baby is under some stress.

New mothers may have many questions related to “do babies poop in the womb” One of question could be is it good or bad. Firstly, if there are no other bad signs that the baby is not able to tolerate the pain, then Meconium is not a problem.

Another question related to “do babies poop in the womb” is that if it’s clean and how does it look. Mother’s do not have to worry as Meconium is clean and maximum of it is water and there is no possibility of any infections. The most important factor related to “do babies poop in the womb” is that we have to make sure that the baby does not inhale the poop.

There is a possibility that the baby might inhale the poop when it takes the first breath. The poop might get into the baby’s lungs and it can block the air. There is a possibility that the baby might suffer from pneumonia or any problems with respiration. This is called Meconium aspiration syndrome MAS. This is not common, but precautionary measures are always advised.

New mothers might also have a question related to “do babies poop in the womb”. They might be wondering what can be done to avoid this from happening. Meconium is not an emergency as this is not seen in all the labors. Only 13% labors have experienced this and it happens if the labors have passed 34 weeks.

Even if the babies poop in the womb, it can be managed. The nurse’s place a tube in the uterus called intrauterine pressure catheter. This tube is connected to the IV, which has IV fluid running in the uterus. This sterile fluid will dilute the Meconium and makes it thin and also covers the baby so that Meconium does not come in the way of breathing.

New mothers might also wonder about “do babies poop in the womb”, and if they do, how can it be avoided during the delivery. The doctors make sure the head of the baby is delivered first and once done; they suction the mouth and nose of the baby. They make sure that the baby is delivered and if the baby does not cry, the suction of airway is done deeper this time. Usually, the babies cry as soon as they are delivered.

Some people have misconceptions about “do babies poop in the womb”, as they see the baby poops after birth. It is because some babies usually hold their poops until they are in this world. They take few days before they can clear their system and then have a smooth flow of poop. This will help the new mothers understand the concept of “do babies poop in the womb”

According to facts, during the course of pregnancy the baby may pee in the womb, but it may also poop when it is overdue. The baby may pass the first poop known as meconium. This is dark colored sticky substance that the baby may poop during the first few days after delivery.

In certain cases, where the baby has pooped in the womb, it can be dangerous especially if the baby ingests any of the meconium. When the meconium is present in the amniotic fluid, it will give a stain to the fluid.

Most doctors observe that most mothers do contain a little both of meconium in the amniotic fluid at the time of delivery. If you have any doubts regarding this you can ask the doctors “why do babies poop in the womb?”

The answer to this question would be that babies poop in the womb when the delivery is overdue. There are many theories written that will explain why do babies poop in the womb. If you want to know if why do babies poop in the womb at the time of delivery, you can consult your gynecologist for advice.

Mainly, a missed menstrual cycle has been listed first amongst the ten signs of very early pregnancy, if your periods are always regular.

Pregnant lady starts feeling fatigue due to hormonal changes, and would take some time to get adapted to new hormonal levels. Fifty out of hundred would feel nausea at any time, but it has been recorded mostly during day times. Constipation, tender nipples and breasts; and darker areolas are also the very early signs of pregnancy 1 week.

Always consult a doctor and take proper care, and avoid taking alcohol and quit smoking, as they are injurious to health. Keep in mind that, now you are two, so be fit and keep exercising.

It is healthier to know the developmental changes about pregnancy hormones week by week as it is good for both mother and the baby. Keeping a track about the same will give you a clear picture about what to expect and what needs to be done for a better progress. Let us see the changes that might happen during your pregnancy.

The first week of pregnancy actually takes place after two weeks of the onset of the periods. Two weeks of pregnancy is also not considered as pregnant, although your body starts preparing egg for fertilization.

Most women are advised to consult a doctor for regular check up, to avoid any risks. The third week is considered to be the stage of pregnancy, where the egg gets fertilized by sperm and develops in uterus.

The pregnancy reaches fourth week, divides the fertilized egg into two portions, one is fixed to the placenta which excretes the waste, and the other half is the baby. You will not get into periods, when you reach the fourth week. In the fifth week of pregnancy, the baby starts to develop.

During sixth week of pregnancy, basic features of the baby begin to develop. During the change in pregnancy hormones week by week, a pregnant lady should be very careful, and avoid taking non vegetarian food, alcohol and tobacco as well. Pregnant lady should be very careful during all the stages, and eat healthy food containing calcium, iron and proteins.

When you think of all the incredible changes that go into turning a fertilized egg into a newborn baby, how can you not feel awe? By the time most women realize they are pregnant, about five weeks after their last menstrual period, the embryo is already pretty complex. Shaped like a disk, it has an inner layer of cells that will go on to become most of the internal organs, a middle layer of cells that will form muscles and bones, and an outer layer that will become the skin and the neurons of the brain and spinal cord.

By eight weeks after conception (about ten weeks after the last menstrual period), all of the major organs have begun to form and the fetus is beginning to take on a human look. But it is still only two inches long and weighs about a third of an ounce.

Four or five months into the pregnancy, just about half way, marks the turning point. This is the time of quickening, when you first feel your baby moving. If an ultrasound has not been done, those little kicks and nudges may be the first palpable proof that there really is a baby in there, a thrilling moment!

Moving into the third trimester, after about twenty seven weeks, the name of the game becomes growth, growth and more growth. The baby’s length doubles, the weight triples. The brain grows even more quickly than that. At the same time, new behaviors appear. By twenty nine weeks of gestation, a baby will startle in response to a sudden loud noise, but if the noise repeats every twenty seconds or so, the baby soon ignores it. This behavior, called habituation, is evidence of the emergency of memory.

If a pleasant sound is repeated, say the sound of your voice reading poetry, your unborn fetus is likely to remember this too. After birth, babies choose to listen to their mothers voice over that of a stranger. If you have a favorite piece of music that you play over and over during the third trimester, chances are your baby will love it too, both before birth and after. Without a doubt, learning starts before birth. That is why it is rightly said that “Mothers Womb” is the first learning center for the baby.

But that doesn’t mean that you need to break out the flash cards along with the maternity clothes. Nobody has ever shown that special teaching adds anything to fetal learning. Instead, it’s the natural stimuli, the sound of your voice, and the rhythms of your body, that are most nurturing to development.
